Santa Gunman Lost Job, Wife Before Gory AttackShow Video Details ↓ Narrator: Authorities say that in the months before his Christmas eve rampage left nine people dead including his ex-wife and many members of his family, Bruce Pardo saw his life going up in flames as well with a failed marriage, the loss of his job and financial burdens that were so severe he asked a judge to have his ex wife pay him support and cover the attorney's fees he picked up during his divorce. Police say Pardo originally planned to flee to Canada following the Christmas eve attack. However the Santa suit he was wearing that night melted on his body and he suffered severe burns when he used this device to spray high octane fuel inside the home and then set the place on fire. Authorities say his rented compact car was rigged to set off five hundred rounds of ammunition. They say no one was injured when it exploded at his brother's home where Pardo shot and killed himself after fleeing the crime scene. Police also found seventeen thousand dollars strapped to his body that they believe he planned to use to fund his escape in Canada. Friends say he gave no sign that he was on the verge of murder. Authorities say he had no previous record. [inaudible], the Associated Press. |
